About

Chinatsu Seya is a Japanese fine artist based in New York. Seya’s work consists of large-scale ink drawings that often feature figures, nature, and still life, conveying subtle emotional complexity in quiet yet vibrant scenes. Grounded in a background in sculpture, she approaches her drawings “ as if it were a sculptural process,” emphasizing scale to engage with forms, details, and textures on the surface. By focusing on light and shadow to create volume, the drawings achieve a strong sense of three-dimensionality and a dramatic, monumental presence. Her works have been in private collections in New York, Los Angeles, Paris, and Tokyo.
