About
Chinatsu Seya is a Japanese-born visual artist based in New York. Seya’s work consists of scaled pen-and-ink drawings featuring figurative subjects, portraits, and still lifes. Grounded in sculpture, her practice emphasizes not only lines and details but also surfaces, textures, and forms. Through Seya’s drawings, she often conveys distinct characteristics of her subjects, fragments of tension, and a vibrant sense of presence in strictly monochromatic, monumental images. Her large-scale drawings have been selected for a four-person exhibition at Blank Space Gallery and for group exhibitions at other venues throughout New York City. Seya’s works have been in private collections in New York, California, Oregon, and Paris.
